Everbloom mâtîrja dahlia tuber

This dahlia is so special. A shorter plant, around 1m, covered in sturdy blooms, with deep luscious red tones and the occasional sporting white bloom (which we haven't captured yet!).

It's a wild collerette form that we fell in love with instantly and many who visited our garden this season commented on it's uniqueness.

We chose this name to honour the 4000-year-old ancestral mother tongue of Proto-Celtic, which through the curation and exploration of the wonderful Carolyn Hillyer, we have found this new-ancient language which stirs something within us.

mâtîrja means mother line (ancestral women) ~ a theme that is important to us as a family with two mother lines weaving onwards at once. <3

This is also a seedling from the beautiful cultivar "Janette Thompson" which we have started a breeding project with and is therefore one of Janette's daughters too. So it feels fitting as the first of many JT babies that we hope to add to our Everbloom collection.

This is SUPER limited, so sorry for anyone who misses out, we will have more available next year.
